MyBesh Review:
Is Camila over Shawn Mendes and have her priorities shifted? Well, whether "Bam Bam" is a digression from the breakup is still up for debate, but one thing is for sure, her latest cumbia-infused song with bilingual vocals and earworm lyrics is remarkable. Her vocals are on point and the beats are refreshing alike welcoming an upcoming melodic Spring breeze amidst the thick thaw of Winter snow. Ed Sheeran adds color and warmth to the song while serenading to encouraging phrases such as "It's been a hell of a year, thank God we made it out" to reflect the pain in a less excruciating manner.
Further review on the lyrics shows that "Bam Bam" may indeed allude to Camila's breakup and her reflections post crisis. Camila may be referring to Shawn's Instagram surfing photos in 2021 post the breakup based on "You said you hated the ocean, but you’re surfin’ now". "I said I’d love you for life, but I just sold our house" may be as a result of her recent Hollywood HIlls home sale that she shared with Mendes.
Overall, an expressive and catchy tune despite the melancholy mood. Our verdict is summarized in the scores below.
