Editorial Standards
These are the commitments we make to our readers. They govern every page we publish.
Accuracy
We aim for accuracy on every factual claim. Where a claim cannot be verified, we either omit it or clearly mark it as speculation. Quoted material is attributed to its source. Statistics carry a date and a source. Where reasonable scholarly disagreement exists about a song's meaning, we present more than one reading rather than asserting a single answer.
Originality
Every interpretation on MyBesh is original to our editorial team. We do not republish, rewrite, or closely paraphrase work from other lyric or song-meaning sites. If we cite an external analysis (for example, a published essay or artist interview), we link to it.
Named authors and accountability
Every interpretation carries a byline. The named editor is responsible for the content. If you believe a page is in error, the byline tells you who to contact.
Corrections
We commit to a 48-hour response time on substantive correction requests. Material corrections are logged at the bottom of the affected page with the date and a brief description of the change. Minor edits (typos, formatting) are not logged.
Conflicts of interest
Our revenue sources are: display advertising via standard ad networks, affiliate commissions on links to streaming services and music retailers, and clearly disclosed sponsored editorial. None of these influence which songs we cover or how we interpret them. The only editorial influence sponsorship carries is in the specific sponsored piece, which is labelled accordingly.
Community content
User comments and alternate interpretations are subject to moderation before they appear publicly. We use AI-assisted moderation for first-pass filtering (toxicity, spam, off-topic), with human review for anything flagged. Our community guidelines are linked from every comment form.
What we will not publish
- Fabricated artist quotes or interviews.
- Unsourced biographical claims about living artists.
- Content that incites violence, harassment, or discrimination.
- Content that violates the intellectual property of others.
Feedback and complaints
If you believe we have fallen short of these standards on a specific page, please write to us via the Contact page and select "Editorial Complaint." Complaints are reviewed by a senior editor.
